Susanna is a senior policy, public affairs and research leader with two decades of experience of working in partnership to achieve meaningful change at a variety of organisations. For the past eight years her focus has been on delivering policy impact for membership organisations in the education sector.
Since September 2019 she has been Head of Policy at University Alliance (UA), a ‘mission group’ representing professional and technical universities that are known for their partnerships with employers and focus on graduate employability. Susanna works closely with Vice-Chancellors and other university leaders to ensure their views are effectively represented to decision makers.
Previously, she led the policy, public affairs and research functions at the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY), a charity and membership body representing childcare and early years practitioners during a period of significant change for the sector, with the doubling of the early years entitlement to 30 hours in 2017.
Susanna has extensive experience as a researcher and public policy professional, having worked for a variety of organisations including theEquality and Human Rights Commission, the Hansard Society, and the Institute for Public Policy Research.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Vassar College in the US; a Master’s degree in human rights from the London School of Economics; and a graduate diploma in law from the College of Law (now University of Law).
