Nigel’s experience of commerce first started as a teenager as a shop assistant in the family business.
He went on to secure a MA at the University of St. Andrews and a postgraduate Masters in Marketing qualification, before spending the first 22 years of his career at a Fortune 500 International B2B organisation. Successfully working across Corporate Sales, Sales Management and Project Management roles and was a founding member of the Learning Leadership team as the business established a European Corporate Learning & Development function.
Building on this 7 years of Corporate Learning leadership experience, Nigel was recruited by City & Guilds Group, a Royal Chartered charitable skills development organisation as the Group Head of Employee Learning & Development from 2014 to 2018.
In 2019, Nigel joined ADP, a growing Fortune 250 B2B organisation as Director, Learning Delivery leading their client and associate training offers across EMEA. ADP employ 58,000 employees specialising in HR / Payroll Technologies and Managed Services. During this time Nigel and his team significantly raised the satisfaction levels of their key internal stakeholders.
Nigel was approached in 2023 by GE HealthCare to shape the rebuild of their EMEA Learning offer following the spin out from GE Corporate into an independent market leading $20billion revenue organisation.
Nigel’s passion to develop our next generations through education, led him to first volunteer as a Governor for a state funded primary school in South-West London for over 12 years. During that time he held a variety of responsibilities including Vice Chair of Governors, Committee Chair of Teaching, Learning and Inclusion and for 3 years as Safeguarding lead.
Nigel joined CET as an Advisor in 2023 before becoming Trustee in 2024, bringing his industry, Corporate L&D and governance experience to support CET’s growth and increase the impact of the Charity.
