Governance & Funding
Commercial Education Trust (CET) is a trading name of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Commercial Education Trust, registered in England and Wales under no: 2419257 and as a charity under no: 801986.
Our objects are to promote, advance and encourage commercial education for the benefit of the public.
The source of our funding is income from our investments, which derive from the sale of the LCCI Commercial Education Trust Examinations Board in 2002.
Whilst strong links remain with LCCI, which appoints the Trustees, LCCI has no control over the assets or management of the Trust.
The Trustee Board meets four times a year and is comprised of between six and nine trustees. It sets and oversees strategy. The Board is supported by two committees, the Grants and Development Committee; and the Finance and Administration Committee.
The Grants and Development Committee (GDC) meets four times a year and is comprised of Board Members and Advisors to the Trust. The GDC reviews grant strategy and delivery as well as CET’s other charitable activities. It recommends grant awards to the Trustee Board.
The Finance and Administration Committee (FAC) meets four times a year and is comprised of Board Members and when required, Advisors to the Trust. The FAC reviews and recommends to the Trustee Board the annual budget and investment strategy, monitors investment performance and oversees risk management.
